First edition, one of a kind. A full bangle style bracelet made from cast sterling silver rolly bugs. Capturing the isopod shell texture in a very wearable design.
As an avid gardener, rolly pollies (or pill bugs) are not friends. However, I also loved playing with them as a kid, and still find them fascinating to watch move and roll.
I collected the shell of one from my garden, and after molding it in silicone, reproduced duplicates of it to construct this bracelet in wax. The wax was then transformed into silver through the Lost Wax Casting process. This bracelet is a prototype, and will not be molded and replicated. I will however be making a fresh version from scratch, so although there will be similar bangles available in the near future, none will be exactly like this one.
Future editions will have slightly less metal (this one weights about 44g in sterling silver), and will be available in three different sizes, and a variety of metals. Snag this first version early though!
This bangle slips on over your wrist, and stays on comfortably. It is not an adjustable fit. 70mm interior diameter (78mm exterior diameter). Solid sterling silver.
